The ND Group’s highly experienced leadership team is dedicated to meeting the needs of its customers, partners, and the business community at large. All members have strong international managerial and operational backgrounds and were responsible for the start and successful growth of ND’s first venture, Ecolog, and its successive businesses. They are entrepreneurs themselves, setting the direction of the Group, managing growth, and supporting the companies of the Group.

A team of experienced investment directors is responsible for achieving the business objectives of the investment portfolio and exploring the market for future acquisitions. The investment directors are specialists in their respective fields and have broad managerial and entrepreneurial backgrounds across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia, reflecting the Group’s global scope.

Over the years, ND Group has built a strong network of senior advisors and partners with diverse industrial and commercial backgrounds. They bring great experience, complementing ND Group’s management and investment experts and benefiting the Group companies.

Paul Broekhuijsen

Chief Executive Officer

Paul was appointed CEO of ND Group in September 2017. He is a seasoned business leader with extensive experience across a wide variety of industries and markets, as well as a deep knowledge of complex international operations, which reflects the current activities and future ambitions of ND Group.

Before joining ND Group, Paul served as CEO of Ecolog International, a Dubai-based integrated services company with clients including governments, defence and humanitarian organisations and commercial industrial clients, including in the Oil, Gas and Mining sectors. Ecolog International is the largest holding of ND Group.

Paul also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Vanderlande (2010 – 2015), a global market leader in logistic process automation solutions, and as CEO of Hertel (2011 – 2014), an international industrial services company working for customers in Oil & Gas, Process and Energy industries. He also previously served as Executive Board Member of TBI, a major Dutch construction and technical services group, and before that as President of the GEA Refrigeration Division, also known as Grasso’s Koninklijke Machinefabrieken.

Paul has a MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.

Abraham Sabbagh

Chief Financial Officer

Abraham Sabbagh is Chief Financial Officer and joined ND Group in 2016. Abraham has held senior finance and operational roles with multinational corporations touching nearly every aspect of the business in diverse industries, mainly in construction and healthcare.

Besides his leadership role, he has focused on enhancing the strategic direction of the business, improving business and finance practices, and optimizing profitability.  In these diverse environments, he has succeeded by practicing sound business acumen, effective communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Abraham joined Ecolog International in 2012. holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Islam Ceka

General Portfolio Manager

Islam Ceka has been General Portfolio Manager for ND Group since 2015. Islam brings rich experience and in-depth corporate knowledge to the Group. He has managed various corporate-wide programs for cost optimization, operational risks mitigation, IT implementation, and restructuring activities.

He joined Ecolog in 2003 and started his career in the Finance Department. He was promoted as Director of Finance and Control in 2005 and to Vice President of Finance in 2007. After his appointment as Investment Director at the affiliated holding company ND Group, Islam returned in 2012 to Ecolog to take the role of General Manager of Finance and Administration. He studied Business Administration and holds an Executive MBA degree.

Lumri Bexheti

Investment Director

Lumri Bexheti has been Investment Director at ND Group since 2016. His primary responsibilities include sourcing and executing new investments and contributing to the firm’s investment strategy.

Lumri brings a wealth of experience and extensive corporate knowledge in the area of corporate development, identifying and assessing investment opportunities, and strategic communication.

Prior to joining ND Group, Lumri held at Ecolog International, starting in 2005 and including roles in Marketing and Communications, Sales, and Contracts, and as Vice President for Business Development. After his appointment as Investment Director at ND Group’s Ventures in 2011, he returned to Ecolog in 2014 in the position of Managing Director, overseeing the company’s Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions programs.

Lumri studied Communication Science and Technology.

Ulrich Krockenberger

Chief Legal Officer

Ulrich Krockenberger joined ND Group in 2016 as Chief Legal Officer. He has overall responsibility for ND Group’s legal, compliance, and governance matters.

Ulrich most recently was a senior manager at PwC Legal, advising large Japanese-based multinational corporations on their corporate legal affairs and Mergers and Acquisitions projects in Germany and Europe.

He has specific experience in M&A and large-scale Pan-European structuring projects and is also a German-qualified attorney-at-law.

Ulrich studied law at the University of Muenster and the University of Potsdam.

Kaan Savul

Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer of ND Group, Kaan Savul is focused on building the firm’s reputation, developing stronger relationships, innovating marketing approaches, and ultimately fostering the growth of ND Group.

Partnering with senior executives across the organization and its affiliated businesses, he leads ND Group’s marketing initiatives and programs to drive the reputation of the group worldwide in alignment with the Group’s companies.

Kaan is responsible for raising the company’s profile and visibility to help meet core business objectives and to enhance its brand identity with internal and external stakeholders.

He brings more than 20 years of international marketing communications experience to the role after holding leadership positions in UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), Turkey, and Germany, where he also consulted on multinational companies’ marketing and communication strategies.

Kaan studied at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and has obtained numerous certificates and awards in the marketing field.
