Prestigious Düsseldorf business club and ND Group entity, the Wirtschaftsclub Düsseldorf, has appointed former Stockheim manager, Karin Bianga, as its new managing director.
Karin replaces Hans-Joachim Driessen, who is joining the advisory board as its president, and will work alongside the club’s founder and longtime managing partner, Rüdiger Goll.
The announcement was made at the Wirtschaftsclub’s New Year’s reception, which gathered club members, friends and colleagues from across the city’s business, political and media communities for an evening of celebration. Guests included the US Consul General, Michael Kelly, the Kosovar Ambassador to Germany, Skender Xhakaliu and the Christian Democratic Union politician, Carsten Linnemann, who was also the guest speaker.
Karin joins the Wirtschaftsclub, of which ND Group is the principal shareholder, after an extensive career in the catering industry. From 2010 to 2017, she was part of the management and an authorized signatory at the Stockheim restaurant business. During her time at Stockheim, she had operational responsibility for the Rheinterrasse and for catering nationwide. Prior to that, she worked in leading positions in the Dorint Group.
Nazif Destani, Chairman of ND Group’s advisory board, said: “Karin stood out clearly from the eligible candidates, as she brings with her not just comprehensive catering industry experience, but also leadership, business expertise and ingenuity”.
Mr Destani also thanked Hans-Joachim Driessen for his contribution to the club during his time as managing director, under whom the club’s membership has increased from just over 100 to more than 400.
Karin thanked the management for their confidence in appointing her, saying that she was “committed not just to keeping the flame alive, but to keep it blazing with creativity, forward-looking ideas and lots of passion.”
Speaking of his successor, Hans-Joachim Driessen added that “with her background, I see her as an ideal fit, and I’m sure she will keep the club ship on the right course.”
